Final Post

In my ESL class, I can make project about anything we want. This was the first time that I can make any project that we want to make. First I still confused what I have to do, but finally I choose designing a watch, because I like to design. My classmate also made an interesting project. For example, Nabila make a t-shirt, Lidya make a cupcake, Rafi make a lego robot, Wyan make a torch, etc. You can visited their blog too for your inspiration... : )

So first, I made a post about knowledge. In 'knowledge' stage, I have to gain more information about my project by searching. Secondly, I need to make a post about comprehension. In comprehension stage, I have to understanding more about my project. Then, the next step, I was making the project. It was in application stage. So now, in this analysis stage, I have to answer the UOI question, orally identify the problems when design it, and make a commercial for my final watch. This is the question that I made before:

“Why and how is design important to making a watch?” 

Design is important for many reason. First, with the unique design of wristwatch makes people more fashionable. The design can makes fashion in our simple life. Therefore, people can be more ‘up-to-date’, and look more ‘charming’. It also makes people think that watch is not only for showing the time and date, but also make people that follow the trend of fashion.

Beside that, design is some kind of art. Designing a watch is also a part of work of art. A lot of people like art. Hence, they can create watches as many as they can. Thus, they can make an auction of it, and they can earn money from it. When they create a ‘new’ design of watch, they also can be more creative and imaginative.

Lastly, the next benefit is people can make some collections of watches. For those people who like watch, typically in the design, they like to make a collection of watch. It will acquire more motivation and inspiration of people to design.

What Happen Next..

... (Chapter 15)

Killer Kane suddenly come in the night of Christmas Eve, disturb Max in the happy night after he got a present and did some funny stuff with his family. But Max didn't know what to do, so he just sleep over the night, fear. When Max fall a sleep, Killer Kane came to Gram and Grim's room. He sad because he feels guilty about all that he did in the past. After he came to Gram and Grim, he went outside for nothing. In the next morning, after Max father come to Max's room and put his hand in Max's neck. Max was really afraid, and he told Grim and Gram about what happen in the night. However, Gram and Grim didn't trust him. Gram was shivering, afraid if Killer Kane will come and kill them. But Max and Grim try to make Gram calm down.

Freak the Mighty Question

"What will Max do if there was no treasure in the storm drain?" 

I think Max will be upset to Kevin because all of this things that they did, was really wasting time. They did some stupid things that useless. They won't trust each other. Max will thinks that Kevin is a lier. If I in Max situation, I will upset to Kevin and I will think "Why he lie to me?". But I will think "How about all of the things that Kevin told me is true?". I will apologize him.  He won't lie to me. We are a friend. 

Design Watch

Hello there! Back again to my ESL class. For now, the task is really different from all of the project that we did. In this project, we can choose anything we want. I fell excited about it. So, I got a little bit confused about what will I do. Finally, I choose to design a watch. If I can, I will do it in 3D. I never make this before. I also don't know how to do it. So, I decided to search about watch.

I think I will draw it first in paper. And scan it with the printer that already provide in our school. Then, I will search the program that I can use some program that I find. I went online and I got this website. It makes me know what can I use to design the watch. After I read that website, I will use Google Sketch Up and Adobe Photoshop. I will make try to make it as the one that I draw. For a little bit help, I think I can use Adobe Illustrator to help me a little bit.

I decided to search some web for the design. For me, this website, called "Time2" have many different kind of watch. I like some of the design of it. Still in Time2 but in the different URL. I know it is perplexing. In that page you can find  colorful, cool, and different. In this exhaustive web, I can imagine the model of the watch that I will make. So, you should check it out! This is 2 example that I got from Time2

The second comprehensive website that I found called "Time by design". When we click 'enter' and 'our products', we can see the example of their product like I took above. All of the watches are so unique and cool. It's not like an original watch. I pick this website because I think this website is cool. The watches that they show is There are 4 watches that be the example. Here is the example that I take from the web. This is the front of the example in web:

We can called this 'The Digital Watch'.

I think it's like the second edition of 'The Digital Watch', so they called it ''The Digital 1 Watch'. I like this one! :)

This watch called 'The Pie Watch'. For me, this is cool and unique. But, I think it's hard to see/read the clock. What do you think guys?

They named this 'The Orbital Watch'. Maybe it's because the circle in the middle of the watch. I think it shows the second in time.

I won't use this example of watch for my project. It just for the ideas and so, we ca gain more knowledge about watch.

AOI: Human Ingenuity

We made a AOI poster. There are Health and Social Education, Community and Service. Approach to Learning, Environment and Human Ingenuity. I choose Human Ingenuity. I made it with Lidya. The question that connected to human ingenuity is 'Why and how do we create?' and 'What are the consequences?'. I suppose to choose a suitable pictures to show about Human Ingenuity.

Chapter 1 and 2-Freak the Mighty book

After we read about Freak the Mighty chapter one and two, we answered quiz. This is the summary of chapter one and chapter two;


Chapter one) The Unvanquished Truth

Freak (Kevin) and Max (Kicker) met for the first time in Day Care. Then, they also met for the second time in the summer before they would go up to grade eight. Freak has something strange or defects in the legs, so he had to wear something like a robot on his feet. Max, he could not read well, so it should take L.D class. Max's mother is dead, so Gram and Grim take care of him.

Chapter two) Up From the Down Under

Max lives in the basement along with Grim and Gram. They called the room was 'the down under'. Max is also often lays under the bed and think he is a cloud. Basement has a small window. Fair Gwen(Freak's mom) and Freak, moved and finally become a neighbor of Max. When Max left the basement and go to the Freak's home, Freak happy to welcome him. Max and Freak are very happy.
