For Me About Poetry

I learned many things about poetry in my English class, and it was fun. I like to make a poetry now, but not too much. I enjoy when making a poetry. I don't like when I have to read it out loud. I still embarrassed. For me making poetry is interesting. I can write whatever I want. There is no rule for making a poetry. I just make it. I like when I have to feel about the world. I like it because I don't have to think. I just write about anything that I hear, smell, touch, taste and see. This poem is tell me that 'This is your world'.

Last time Mr. Jabiz told us about 'Wall'. I think the wall that mean something that make us hate and feel uncomfortable (embarrassed, shy, etc) when make and read the poetry.  For me, now I can open that half of the wall. Half of it is I still don't want to read it. :)

Love That Dog - Poetry

After we read "Love That Dog" book, we record the poetry that we choose from the book. I record it as a podcast. The poem is ;

I use GarageBand to record it. For me it was not very difficult because I just find the beat for it.


I also made my poetry by my self. It wasn't really difficult. This is my poem:

Best friend, best friend, I am here
Don’t you think I’m disappear
We will in here together
Whenever the bad weather
When suddenly you are drown
I will never let you down

Actually, we make it from GarageBand and the we make it into MP3 with SoundClound.

After I make this podcast, I had a lot of fun. I like when I have to find the beats. But for me the most difficult part was when I have to make my own poetry. I have to make 7 syllables for each sentences.

The first thing that I have to do was find the beat. And then I tried to make the poetry. After that we record the poetry that we make.

At the first, I think make a poetry is boring. But It is not really boring. It is fun. The problem is I don't want to read it. :)

Project About Adjective

In my ESL class with Mr. Jabiz, I made a project. It is about adjective. I have to choose a video and then describe it. I think this activity is useful because I can learn more about adjective.

I like it because I can use my imagination to make this project. I like when I have to write the adjectives. I can modify the noun and describe the video. 

The video that I choose was a song from Justin Bieber. For me the most difficult parts is when I have to record it. Sometimes my voice was too loud and sometimes my voice was too low. So, I have to make it not really loud and really low, normal. 

From this project, I can understand more about adjective. The first things that we did is choose the video. And then we have to describe the video. After we describe it in a sentences, we have to make an adjective from the each sentences that we made. And we record it. We also adding some sound effects. I think it was fun. This is my project about adjective. Enjoy!

I have a question for it. My question is "How many adjectives that we can choose in one sentence?"

Learn Poetry

We are starting to study poetry in my English class and I feel fun with it. I just have a problem when read it. I like to write poetry because when we write a poetry, we can shows what we feel. Also we can show that we see, hear, touch smell and taste. Basically, write poetry is fun and I really interested when write it. But I don't like when I have to read that poetry. I am to embarrassed to do it. Last Friday (14 January 2011), we went to being outside. It really fantastic and I having so much fun in there because I could write what I wanted. We have to write what we feel, see, hear, etc in detail. Now, I know that our school is cool when see in detail. There are so much things that we didn't know before. I saw a big tractor, blue sky with a cloud like cotton, colorful flower like candy, etc. For the photographs that Mr. Jabiz show to us, I think it really nice capture. The lights and the color is really good. The photo is simple but for me it's detail. So, I can explain that picture too. I think people can make poetry easier when look that picture. Mr. Jabiz was telling us about 'walls'. I think, that walls make our self shy to shows what we want. But, we have to take that walls down. It's not easy job because we have to fight to don't become shy and embarrassed anymore. It's really hard. I think enough for now, I will continue this post later

Reflection

Now, I am studying about parts of speech at my ESL class. As I learned, parts of speech are divided into eight categories. There are noun, adjective, adverb, conjunction, preposition, pronoun and interjection. Noun is a person, place thing and idea. Noun is also divided into seven categories. There are common noun, proper noun, compound noun, singular noun, plural noun, concrete noun and abstract noun.

The meaning of common noun is a name of something that non-specific, but proper noun is the name of something that specific (with capital). Singular noun mean one thing and plural noun mean more than one thing. Compound noun is one word that can stand alone but also can be combined to make one word. And the last one is concrete noun, mean something that can we touch, hear, smell, see and taste, different with abstract noun. Abstract noun is the opposite of concrete noun. That is my opinion about the parts of noun

During the lesson, we working as a group with Google Docs. Google Docs is in Gmail. I think it is fun. We can share each other. I like to use Google Docs. With Google Docs, we can see what another classmate wants to write. We also use Flickr to search some images. I think it's good. I like to use it. I think use Flickr make us to search the images that available for us to use and edit it. When I began to learn grammar, I think it will be bored. And I am a little bit confused about what is noun, verb, adjective and adverb. But after I learned it, it's fun. And I also now I know all of them.

Reflection on Ballerina

After making my story using Storybird, I began to record it as a podcast. There are a lot of different things from telling a story and reading the story. When I telling a story, I must express to make the story become interesting. We also have to make people not bored with our stories. For me, the most difficult part is when I record my voice. I was embarrassed when I do that and sometimes, I made mistake so I must repeated again.

However the most easy was when I edited all of the effects in Garageband, because I just choose a suitable effect. I also can played with the effect. The important things when telling a story is use expression. That’s it. Don’t be embarrassed to everybody and I going to be better. I think I’m not successful to do that. Because sometimes I still embarrassed to record my voice. I very enjoy making the podcast because it was fun. I made it for 10 days. In school I record and in my home I fixed the mistakes.

I understand what is the different from reading story and telling the story. The different is if I reading the story, the tone just flat/basic. But, If I telling a story, I must do it with expression. The part that I enjoy is when I edit the effects because it was easy job. The part that I not enjoy is when I record and telling the story because I still embarrassed.

Storybird Reflection

A few weeks ago, my language B teacher, Mr.Jabiz, told me, not only me but us, to record a podcast from a story we wrote using pictures from Storybird. 

First, we searched for images from Storybird. There we're many images, so made me confused to choose that images.  It was hardest things because I was so confused.


The second one, we choose the image that we wanted to make story and then we created 15 slides from that images. We must made sure there is a problem in the story.


Third, we must added text to each slide. This part was easy one because if we know what story that we wanted to make, it easy.


Then, we added adjectives to each slide. I liked this part because I can practice my grammar in English language. But it was hard job for me.


If we done for added adjective, we changed all the word that not past tense into past tense. That is not a hard part but we must to thorough so we didn't make mistake. 
 
Took screen shoot from each slide. It was a easiest things from all of the things I did it because it was so fast.



Copied all text to word document. I enjoyed this part because It was not really hard job


And then, we had print every slide  to a large story board. Not really hard job but it was take a long time.


After that, we added sensory language, such as, smell, sound, feelings and touch. In this part, we can imagine each slides that I made.



And then, we must extended one or two conversations in our text.
